Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Education Assistant to support our students with SEN in various activities outside the classroom. As part of our committed SEN team, you will work closely with the class teacher and other staff to deliver tailored lessons that are accessible, engaging, and fun for our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and delivering sport and physical education activities that cater to students with diverse needs.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons and activities, ensuring their full inclusion and encouragement.
  • Support students in developing their motor skills, coordination, and teamwork abilities in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment, ensuring it is used safely and appropriately.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all students feel motivated, valued, and supported.
  • Monitor and report on student progress in PE lessons, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and staff to create a holistic support plan for each student.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an SEN or educational setting.
  • A passion for sport and physical education, with the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  • Knowledge of various SEN, including physical, emotional, and learning difficulties, and an understanding of how to adapt teaching methods to meet their needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to supporting students.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Salary:

£28,000 - £32,000 per annum
