About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mathematics Educator to join our team at Her Majesty's Youth Offenders Institute (HMYOI) Feltham.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accredited learning to Young People undertaking Maths study programmes, such as Functional Skills, GCSE and A Level.

They will develop and implement young people-centred teaching, learning and assessment strategies, which contribute to increased retention, achievement, and progression of the young people we support.

The role holder will also be required to follow all processes relating to qualifications and examinations, including registration and submissions to validating bodies, and liaison with the Shaw Trust HMYOI Feltham Exams Officer, moderators and external verifiers in accordance with Shaw Trust HMYOI Feltham policy.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified to deliver Maths qualifications
  • Possession of a relevant teaching or training qualification (e.g. QTS, QTLS, DTTLS, PGCE)
  • Experience of teaching on and assessing accredited undertaking Maths qualifications from Entry Level to Level 3
  • Demonstrable experience of providing excellent customer service skills
  • An ongoing interest in and knowledge of recent developments in Maths provision

Working Arrangements

This role will be based within Her Majesty's Youth Offenders Institute (HMYOI) Feltham and will require the successful candidate to work in a prison setting Monday to Friday.
