About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Fitter with a background in large diesel engines to join our client's team in Somerset. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, fault-finding, and repairing locomotives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and service locomotives to ensure optimal performance
  • Conduct thorough examinations and repairs to meet company standards
  • Participate in relevant training and competency assessments
  • Contribute to safety, quality, and technical briefings
  • Maintain workshop areas and uphold high standards of workshop husbandry
Requirements
  • Engineering qualification NVQ Level 3 or above
  • Experience of working on large Diesel engines
  • The ability to make sound engineering decisions
  • Basic communication skills, written and oral
