Duty Social Worker Position

We are seeking an experienced Duty Social Worker to join our team at Knowsley Local Authority. As a Duty Social Worker, you will be responsible for responding to referrals from the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and conducting assessments within a 45-day timescale.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond to referrals from MASH and undertake assessments within a 45-day time-frame, ensuring all statutory requirements are met.
- Work with children and families to develop and implement support plans, offering resources and solutions to meet their needs.
- Handle a varied caseload, including Section 47 enquiries, Child in Need (CIN) assessments, and short-term planning.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to support children and their families, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Manage cases on a short-term basis until they either step down or progress to an Initial Child Protection Conference (ICPC).
- Qualified social worker with registration to Social Work England.
- Demonstrable experience in safeguarding and working with children and families, including handling complex cases such as Section 47 enquiries and CIN.
- Knowledge of the Signs of Safety model is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multi-agency teams.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a duty team.
