Job Title: Attendance Administrator and Family Support Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Attendance Administrator and Family Support Worker to join our team at Archway Learning Trust. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the attendance and wellbeing of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, organise, and monitor student attendance and punctuality matters to meet targets.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with relevant agencies, including family support workers, EHE, and CME teams.
  • Challenging unauthorised absence, including home visits to investigate and challenge non-attendance.
  • Referring students to the Educational Welfare Service on formal non-attendance procedures.
  • Developing individual action plans to improve attendance/punctuality with students when their attendance/punctuality gives cause for concern.
  • Recording, analysing, and preparing documents for court procedures when necessary.
  • Providing specialist knowledge of attendance and punctuality issues and best practice to the SLT.
  • Assisting with student welfare duties, such as dealing with sick students and liaising with parents/carers and relevant staff.

Targeted Support for Vulnerable Families:

  • Ensure accurate record keeping for personal student safeguarding files.
  • Support staff by taking responsibility for safeguarding and targeted support, working with individual students and their families to ensure improved levels of engagement, wellbeing, and positive outcomes at school.
  • Undertaking assessments and taking on a caseload of targeted students and families, meeting with them regularly in school or at home, setting appropriate targets, and monitoring progress.
  • Directing students and families to other agencies who can offer support.
  • Liaising with other members of staff to ensure students' needs and targets are clear amongst both teaching and support staff.
  • Recommending the commencement and conclusion of periods of support for students and their families, and keeping an accurate record of which students receive which support.
  • Preparing information for Multi Agency meetings and representing the Academy at such meetings where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents/carers, and staff.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of attendance and punctuality issues and best practice.
