An exciting new opportunity has emerged for a Senior Financial Coordinator to join the Research & Innovation Team at Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The postholder will be responsible for ensuring research income is efficiently and effectively recouped within given timeframes, providing financial coordination of various studies, supporting costing processes for grant applications, and reducing aged debt on our portfolio.

Main Duties of the Job
  1. Lead and/or support invoicing of research projects using a range of documents and databases to ensure timely and efficient income recovery.
  2. Coordinate financial aspects of multiple studies, managing research project reconciliations allocated and guided by the Finance Manager - Research Projects and Grants.
  3. Support costing processes for grant applications and contribute to reducing aged debt.

This is a challenging role requiring strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, proactive approach to financial management, and comprehensive administrative support to research finance processes.

Requirements
  • Computer literate with strong IT skills, including database upkeep and fluency in Microsoft Excel for financial tasks.
  • Ability to confidently discuss financial matters with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience/Knowledge
  • Essential: Experience in a financial administrative setting, practical experience supporting finance processes of research studies, knowledge of financial documents used in project management, and experience raising invoices and reconciling project finances.
  • Desirable: Experience working in a research finance environment in a pharmaceutical company, NHS Trust, or university.
Academic/Professional Qualification/Training
  • Essential: Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Desirable: Postgraduate degree (or equivalent experience).

Estimated salary for this position: £35,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Please note that salaries may vary based on location and other factors.
