About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Youth Development Officer to join our team in providing direct support to young people who have been referred to the House Project. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with young people, families, and external stakeholders to ensure they have the maximum possible ownership of the project.

The role involves working tenaciously, flexibly, and in an entirely solution-focused and empowering way. This includes regular involvement in various group activities with young people, such as residential trips, sports activities, and supporting them to develop their life skills, community skills, and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to approximately 12 young people, ensuring they maintain their membership and achieve good outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with young people, families, and external stakeholders to identify and manage opportunities and risk.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, facilitating their personal development and involving them in decision-making at every level.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to progress ideas, proposals, and solutions that benefit the young people we care for.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Youth Development Officer who possesses the following qualities:

  • Developed communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills in a variety of contexts.
  • Able to form positive relationships with young people and stakeholders, facilitating positive personal development and achieving consensus.
  • Ability to work effectively on your own initiative, manage your time, and achieve challenging outcomes to tight deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and plan accordingly.
