About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Design Engineer to join our Plug & Play team at Severn Trent. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering innovative designs for civils, design & specifications from concept to detailed design stage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as EA liaison during feasibility and provide feedback on key learning points to the team and future designs.
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders to understand the root cause of business problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Review potential delivery and operational risks, including H&S, environmental, and commissioning.
  • Conclude the appropriate product solution, including costing and liaising with commercial teams.
  • Contribute to the early development of commissioning plans.
  • Ensure the standard plug and play solution is reviewed, benefits appraised, risks and learnings captured, and the design is continually improved.
Requirements
  • Extensive involvement in working closely with supply chain in delivering projects, with emphasis on adherence to CDM design specification, H&S, outputs, and quality.
  • Knowledge of using CAD and digital tools.
  • Demonstrated experience of risk management in construction and operational design.
  • Evidence of influencing key stakeholders to achieve pragmatic solutions.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline.
  • Successful coaching and provision of building capabilities with the design team.
  • Practice of managing a product life cycle.
