Senior Accountant

Yodel is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Finance Team in Liverpool. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in preparing statutory financial statements and management reports. Your expertise will contribute to the delivery of financial performance and support Yodel's strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities- Provide financial leadership and support to the Head of Finance and Finance Director in producing high-quality external and internal financial reports.
- Implement best practices across the wider group, ensuring adherence to statutory and tax deadlines.
- Work closely with external and internal stakeholders to provide compliant, consistent, and efficient reporting solutions.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of IFRS reporting standards, VAT reporting, and corporation tax accounting.
- Drive cost performance in accordance with strategic objectives, using initiative and adopting an innovative approach to cost reduction where appropriate.
- Collaborate with peer groups to ensure joined-up reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proactively investigate variances in expected financial performance, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Qualified chartered accountant with a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Proven track record of delivering projects to tight deadlines.
- Strong communications skills, with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes.
- Good knowledge of Excel and preferably BI software such as Tableau.
- Strong work ethic with focus on detail and accuracy.
- Quick learner and able to adapt within a dynamic working environment.
