Project Engineer - Naval Architecture

This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member within the Engineering Team of a forward-thinking and creative business. Project Engineers will play a key role in managing the commercial and technical execution of projects, using professional expertise and experience in budget, schedule, and technical delivery. You will make a valuable contribution towards a wide variety of interesting projects spanning the full breadth of the clients' portfolio.

The Engineers are engaged with ownership at all stages from concept development through to in-house delivery supported by an experienced team. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  1. Anticipate, manage, resolve issues and act as point of contact for projects.
  2. Report to and meet with clients and interested parties.
  3. Produce engineering proposals, reports, ITTs, and schedules as required by clients.
  4. Prepare cost reports and revenue forecasting for projects.
  5. Use best practice risk management.
  6. Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced members of the team.
  7. Act as an engineering resource on projects as required.
  8. Engineering design.
  9. Constructive liaison with clients, colleagues, and suppliers.
  10. Prepare technical documentation and design calculations.
  11. Supporting project execution activities.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills/experience:

  1. Bachelors or Masters Degree in naval architecture, mechanical, structural engineering, marine engineering, or a related field.
  2. Proven track record of delivering engineering projects.
  3. A valid driving license.
  4. Knowledge of industry software and relevant engineering tools.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Optimistic and positive attitude.
  7. Self-motivated and driven to succeed.
  8. Innovative and creative thinker but still upholds traditional values of our trade.
  9. Team player and not afraid to get stuck in.
  10. Able to work collaboratively.
  11. Adaptable and reacts well to challenges that present themselves.
  12. Financial, commercial and contractual awareness.
  13. Technical and leadership abilities with a proven understanding of project facilitation, change, and delivery.
