We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our team of engineers in the Somerset division of a global specialist equipment manufacturer.
Key Responsibilities- Lead mechanical engineering activities across projects, ensuring cohesive and collaborative team work towards successful project milestones and completion.
- Advocate and lead best practice mechanical engineering to improve delivery of the engineering function to time, cost, quality, and specification, while ensuring effective technical governance for safety, compliance, quality, and reliability.
- Ensure mechanical engineering of product development meets stakeholder requirements from subsystem-level requirements, with effective validation and verification plans in place.
- Lead mechanical engineering budgets for people and financial resources, contributing to future forecasting with the Senior Engineering Manager.
- Practical application of best-practice mechanical engineering in a relatable engineering industry.
- Significant experience working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry with strong understanding of product safety and compliance.
- Experience recruiting, interviewing, and hiring mechanical engineers, both from internal and external talent pools.
- Experience tutoring/instructing best-practice mechanical engineering.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills at multiple organisational levels.
- High level of integrity and accountability with a results-driven mindset, able to set standards and hold people accountable to deliver.
- Flexibility working arrangements.
