Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at A.D.S Construction Personnel Ltd. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend initial handover meetings to ensure all necessary information is obtained or raised.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of contract documents and pre-commencement budgets.
  • Check orders and contracts, raising concerns or anomalies in a timely manner.
  • Provide project analysis, including cost projections and labour pay out rates.
  • Identify and arrange subcontractors, agreeing costs or placing subcontract orders.
  • Prepare and administer subcontractor accounts, submitting them in a timely manner.
  • Attend valuation meetings with main contractors or clients' representatives.
  • Agree submitted valuations within 14 days and ensure payment is received as contracted.
  • Accurately manage monthly costings and present reports to the Commercial Manager.
  • Pricing, confirming, and submitting variations with main contractors.
  • Measure labour-only subcontractor and direct labour on a weekly basis, authorizing payment through weekly timesheets and invoices.
  • Create and maintain accurate records of weekly timesheets and invoices.
  • Ensure final account payment is received in accordance with contract conditions.
  • Apply for retention monies in line with contract conditions.
  • Produce Purchase Orders for variation works, ensuring costs are based on competitive quotations.
  • Ensure financial documentation is accurate and timely.
  • Negotiate claims for extensions of time and reimbursement of loss and expense.
Requirements:
  • Qualified at Degree Level in Quantity Surveying-Commercial Management.
  • CSCS certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 7+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with a subcontractor background.
  • Knowledge of carpentry, working drawings, and financial awareness.
  • Budget and resource management skills.
  • Supply chain processes understanding.
  • Technical and commercial awareness.
  • Negotiating skills.
