Job Summary:

The Compliance and Building Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring the effective maintenance and improvement of the housing stock and local environment for the council. This includes managing compliance and building safety matters for all council properties and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with UK standards across all council housing stock through regular inspections, addressing any non-compliance issues, and maintaining meticulous records.
  • Inspections and Risk Assessments: Oversee specific inspections, such as gas safety and fire risk assessments, to maintain high standards and achieve 100% access to council homes for gas servicing and electrical testing.
  • Staff and Project Management: Utilize staff and project management experience to lead the team and ensure the successful implementation of compliance and building safety initiatives.
  • Qualifications and Experience: Possess a building services-related degree or equivalent qualification, understanding of compliance management, and at least 5 years of qualitative experience.
