We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team at Penguin Recruitment Ltd. As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in leading and managing ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact studies for various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact studies for various projects, ensuring compliance with UK wildlife legislation and planning regulations.
- Conduct and oversee field surveys, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, and ecological monitoring, to gather data and inform project decisions.
- Prepare detailed ecological reports, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies, utilizing your expertise in ecological survey techniques, data analysis, and report writing.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing expert advice and guidance on ecological issues, and fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Mentor and support junior ecologists, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning within the team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience within an ecological consultancy or a related field, with a strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation, planning regulations, and best practices in ecological management.
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, with a master's degree or PhD being advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work with a positive impact.
