Job Title: Export Control Compliance Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Export Control Compliance Specialist to join our team in Barrow-in-Furness. As a key member of our Export Control team, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with domestic and foreign export control laws and regulations.



As an Export Control Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for providing daily support to the Export Control function, assisting in managing and completing tasks related to export control matters. You will oversee the allocation of queries and tasks, contributing to business processes and escalating issues when necessary.



You will assist in reviewing and developing export control processes and user guides, ensuring compliance with internal standards. Conduct audits of compliance and assist in risk management, developing mitigation plans where required.



Support the preparation of export control training for cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Maintain and update registers, user guides, and SharePoint, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.



Assist with root cause analysis, lessons learned reviews, and regulatory investigations into potential export control breaches. Communicate export control matters to the wider business in a clear, concise manner.



Support export control assurance activities and contribute to the development of continuous improvement initiatives.



Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:


  • Experience working within a logistics, HMRC, or shipping environment (desirable).
  • Experience in a compliance-focused role.
  • Extensive administrative background.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and manage time efficiently.


This is a maternity cover role, but there is potential for a permanent position following the contract.
