Job Description

We are seeking a Peatland Governance Specialist to join our team at Scotland's Rural College (SRUC). As a key member of our research team, you will work on qualitative and community-based participatory research related to paludiculture production, value chains, and governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on the governance structures of paludiculture systems, including stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with our partners to develop and implement research plans that address the socio-economic and environmental challenges facing paludiculture production.
  • Provide recommendations for improving the governance of paludiculture systems, based on your research findings.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant subject, such as social science, environmental science, human geography, or environmental/economic/agricultural economics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience. This role may be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route.
