Embedded Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Design Engineer to join our team at Computer Futures. As a key member of our Applications Engineering team, you will be responsible for the development and support of electronic hardware and embedded software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the embedded design function and ensure projects are delivered on time, on specification, and are fit for purpose.
  • Design authority for all PCB and firmware solutions, working closely with the Engineering team to develop and implement new products and accessories.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge and expertise in the field of embedded design and controls.
  • Collaborate with the Software development team to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
  • Design and execute experiments to validate and verify new machine and control concepts.
Requirements:
  • High level of competence in Altium and similar design systems, with strong hardware design capabilities and experience in power electronics and integration with other machine systems.
  • Strong competence in digital and analogue design, with experience in low to medium speed systems.
  • Proficient in PCB test rig and process design, soldering of PTH and SMD devices, and Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel and/or other data processing tools.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques, DFM/DFA, VA/VE, FMEA, and ability to read technical drawings and understand mechanical design principles.
