Senior Anaesthetist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Anaesthetist to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in Cardiac Anaesthesia and be able to work collaboratively with our team of consultant anaesthetists.
Main Duties:
- The main clinical duties will be in cardiothoracic anaesthesia, including cardiac surgery and cardiac catheter labs.
- The role will also offer the opportunity to deliver anaesthetic sessions in a wider teaching hospital environment and maintain skills outside cardiothoracic anaesthesia.
Requirements:
- Full registration (or within 3 months of) and license to practice with GMC or eligible if currently working overseas in Cardiac Anaesthesia.
- Competent in intraoperative TOE as applied to cardiac surgery.
- Wide experience and a high level of competence in a broad range of anaesthetic procedures and techniques.
- Implementing change and monitoring compliance.
- Understanding and involvement in Risk Management.
Salary: We offer a competitive salary in line with the UK average for a Consultant Anaesthetist, estimated at £200,000-£300,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. The salary will be based on an annualised basis, taking into account the post holder's flexibility in terms of session and day of the week.
Working Conditions: The post holder will work a full-time contract, with sessions in cardiac surgery, general theatres, and the cardiothoracic on-call rota. The post holder is expected to work these sessions on a flexible annualised basis.
