Role Overview

Sudlows is a renowned specialist engineering company with a thriving Enterprise Services division. We are currently seeking a skilled Site Manager to play a pivotal role in the delivery of our projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager in overseeing site operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety, technical, commercial, and managerial requirements from pre-commencement to practical completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Project Manager to manage contractor resources, performance, reporting, and site handover documentation.
  2. Provide technical expertise to the site-based project team, ensuring that projects are planned and executed with precision, adhering to required standards.
  3. Identify and report any out-of-scope works to the Project Manager, ensuring additional tasks are captured and billed to the customer accurately.
  4. Oversee the delivery of Handover Packs and conduct comprehensive quality assurance checks to guarantee project excellence.
  5. Work closely with the Project Manager to secure necessary resources for project delivery.
  6. Supervise contractor teams from first fix to final fix, ensuring that project-specific quality or technical standards are fully understood and met.
  7. Verify at relevant project stages that these standards have been achieved, or take necessary remedial action.

Requirements:

  1. SMSTS qualification
  2. ECS card
  3. First aid 3-day certification (desirable)
  4. Asbestos awareness training (desirable)
  5. Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation works
  6. C&G 2391 testing certification (desirable)
  7. Ability to work collaboratively with other trades
  8. Valid driving license
  9. Detailed knowledge of construction sites, methods, tools, and materials
  10. Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective team-based working
  11. Excellent planning and organisation skills for fast-paced environments
  12. Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges

Planning & Organising:

  1. Able to organise own workload effectively

Working with People:

  1. Establish rapport with service users, including clients, public, and other contractors as necessary
  2. Proficient in everyday spoken skills, such as telephone, online, and face-to-face conversations
