The Role:

As an Audit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing audit engagements, managing audit teams, and building strong relationships with clients. You will also play a key role in mentoring and developing junior staff members and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.

You will lead and manage a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring audits are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard. This includes planning, executing, and completing audit engagements, reviewing audit files and financial statements, and managing and mentoring junior audit staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing a portfolio of audit clients
  • Planning, executing, and completing audit engagements
  • Reviewing audit files and financial statements
  • Managing and mentoring junior audit staff
  • Liaising with clients to understand their needs and provide audit-related advice
  • Conducting risk assessments and evaluating internal controls
  • Managing audit budgets and ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales
  • Keeping up to date with changes in auditing standards, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements
  • Assisting with the development of the firm's audit strategy and contributing to the growth of the audit department
  • Supporting business development by identifying opportunities for additional services and strengthening client relationships

Requirements include:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in audit within an accountancy practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK auditing standards, UK GAAP, and IFRS
  • Proven experience in managing audits and leading audit teams
  • Ability to manage multiple audit assignments and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in audit and accounting software, such as CaseWare, Sage, or similar platforms
