Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Reed Engineering. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, using your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Record and report maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance schedules, and equipment performance data.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest maintenance techniques, technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve our maintenance processes.
Requirements:
- Relevant vocational qualification, such as NVQ, ONC, HNC, HND, C&G, or an appropriate apprenticeship.
- Experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance, or a willingness to cross-skill and develop your skills in these areas.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and other departments.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
