About the Role

NHS Scotland is committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services that meet the needs of our diverse population. As a Community Mental Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with mental health needs in the Caithness area.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for clients, as well as providing education and support to their families and carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs and develop personalized care plans
  • Provide high-quality care and support to clients, including medication management and therapy
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Provide education and support to clients' families and carers to promote understanding and empowerment
  • Participate in the Place of Safety service for escorting detained patients to psychiatric in-patient facilities
Requirements
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Strong clinical background in mental health nursing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes
