Job Overview

Speedy Hire, a leading provider of tools, equipment and support services in the UK, is seeking an experienced Plant Equipment Specialist to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and repair of plant hire equipment in the region, adhering to the company's safety standards.

This role requires strong technical skills, with a proven ability to test and repair plant equipment to the highest standard. A background in a relevant discipline, such as engineering, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine inspections and maintenance on plant equipment
  • Repair and diagnose faults in plant equipment
  • Liaise with drivers and the hire desk team to ensure effective prioritization of repairs and maintenance
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers in the depot

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g. mechanical engineering)
  • Strong technical skills, with experience in testing and repairing plant equipment
  • Familiarity with industry-standard safety procedures
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including overtime as required
