About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to join our team at Barclays Bank Plc. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our database infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements
  • Develop and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to ensure reliability, performance, and availability
  • Monitor and resolve IT infrastructure and system performance issues
  • Implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
  • Ensure the security and integrity of our database infrastructure
Requirements
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and similar database technologies
  • Knowledge of DevOps automation tools such as Code versioning (git), JIRA, Ansible, Containers and Kubernetes (OpenShift)
  • Experience with database CI/CD tools and their implementation
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
