We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our Close Brothers Asset Management team. As a key member of our Financial Control function, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of taxes for our division.
Key ResponsibilitiesVAT- Prepare and submit VAT returns for our UK entities, ensuring compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) regulations.
- Present VAT returns to the Finance Leadership team for approval and submission.
- Conduct research to respond to VAT-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with the wider Finance team to ensure accurate VAT recognition and coding.
- Ensure timely payments to HMRC.
- Prepare month-end corporation tax accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Collate tax computations and returns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Liaise with external third-party providers to prepare returns and supply required information.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax computations and returns with HMRC.
- Ensure adequate controls are in place for tax compliance, including Senior Accounting Officer regulations.
- Maintain documentation and RCSA.
- Prepare the annual Senior Accounting Officer pack and present to the Senior Finance Leadership Team for review and approval.
- Professional qualification in accounting or tax (e.g., ACA, CA, ACCA, CTA, ATT).
- Proven experience in a Tax function, preferably in the financial services sector.
- Experience in Direct and Indirect Taxes.
- Previous experience dealing with HMRC.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Good commercial awareness and knowledge of regulatory tax requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Team player.
