**About the Role**

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a highly skilled Asset Finance Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in securing asset financing on our capital expenditure assets and building strong relationships with our funders.

**Key Responsibilities**
  • **Funder Analysis**: Provide in-depth analysis of financial data to management and external auditors, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with IFRS16.
  • **Asset Management**: Maintain accurate records of capital expenditure, including the capitalization of assets in our financial management information system (FMIS).
  • **Budgeting and Forecasting**: Develop and manage annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for hire purchase and operating lease assets, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • **Disposal and Reconciliation**: Review and process disposals, ensuring outstanding settlements are resolved and fixed asset registers are reconciled.
  • **Cash Management**: Drive and manage cash flow through refinancing of unencumbered assets, ensuring optimal financial performance.
  • **System Maintenance**: Maintain and upgrade our FMIS reporting system, ensuring seamless data management and analysis.
  • **Audit Support**: Collaborate with the Finance Manager to prepare for annual audits and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
**Requirements**
  • **Accounting Qualification**: Fully qualified accountant or nearly qualified, with a strong understanding of IFRS16 and asset financing.
  • **Communication Skills**: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • **Analytical Skills**: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in COINs/Tagetik and/or MIB/CIM cubes, with experience in developing and improving processes.
