About The Role

Morrison Water Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our One MEICA Design Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the mechanical engineering aspects of clean and wastewater projects within capital delivery works programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team on projects focusing primarily on water and wastewater M&E capital maintenance and growth projects.
  • Leading the design for singular projects to ensure clients receive the service and deliverables they require across disciplines.
  • Supporting Project Managers with knowledge to complete design and project engineering deliverables within the Pre-Construction phase.
  • Continual professional development, including professional registration, is encouraged and actively supported.
  • Attending and contributing to internal and external design review and progress meetings.
  • Participating in design coordination with other engineering disciplines and professionals.
  • Producing mechanical outputs, including pump calculations and equipment specifications.
  • Creating mechanical schematic diagrams and documentation.
  • Delivering engineering deliverables, such as mechanical drawings, pump calculations, and pipe routes.
  • Reviewing specifications and designs against industry standards and specifications.
  • Producing engineering reports and feasibility studies.
  • Producing risk assessments and method statements.
Requirements
  • Mechanical degree or equivalent in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in design development for clean and wastewater non-infrastructure projects is desirable.
  • Chartered or Incorporated (CEng/IEng) or working towards is desirable.
  • Previous utility industry knowledge and experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to liaise and engage with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Providing mentoring, guidance, and technical advice to support and supervise junior staff.
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines.
  • Good written and oral communication and organisational skills.
