Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Lead

Job Summary:

The Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Lead will play a critical role in leading the development and implementation of workforce transformation strategies across the region. This includes addressing gaps in the workforce, providing education and training, and managing domestic supply routes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead key regional and national programmes of work to inform national policy and direction, providing expert clinical and professional advice.
  • Monitor the delivery and quality of practice-based education across the region, utilizing clinical expertise.
  • Support national strategy development and delivery at the regional level, including education reform and research.

Working Arrangements:

The post holder will be based in the regional offices but expected to travel or use virtual technology to attend regional and national meetings. The post holder will identify and lead several local and regional projects with support from the transformational hub.

Key Partnerships:

The post holder will link closely with the NHSE Integrated Care System (ICS) facing teams in the region, supported by the Regional Head of Education and Training: Health and Care Professions. This will involve collaborating with stakeholders, both internally across NHSE and externally, including ICBs, Arm's Length Bodies, Education Providers, and other key partners to drive the delivery of strategy across the region.
