Job Overview

In this role, you will be part of the Direct Line Group's Cyber Defence team, responsible for maintaining the security presence and identifying gaps in our security measures. The ideal candidate will have experience in firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, anti-virus and content filtering, URL filtering, authentication solutions, switches, routers, Voice over IP (VoIP), firewall zoning, and network traffic analysis.

About the Role

This Senior Security Operations Analyst position is based out of our London Bridge office, offering a hybrid model that combines the best parts of home and office-working. You will be required to work 2 days a week in the office and enjoy flexibility with the remaining days. As part of our Information Security Incident Response capability, you will act as the single point of contact for all security-related response actions and decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain security oversight of technical infrastructure delivered by third-party suppliers and raise concerns/issues that pose a security risk to the organisation.
  • Manage operational risk remediation to conclusion and take ownership within the team.
  • Develop and improve detection engineering and associated technologies.
  • Perform operational and threat malware analysis for the group.
  • Provide security input for maintaining relationships with the Service Management function in relation to change management, problem management, and incident management.
  • Take charge of level 2/3 operational Cyber incident response.
  • Evaluate emerging threat patterns, vulnerabilities, and anomalies and escalate any unknown threats to relevant areas within the company.
  • Collate metrics on the status of technical information security controls across the DLG estate, highlighting risk areas, and develop remediation plans as required.
Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of enterprise-grade technologies, including operating systems, databases, and web applications. They should also possess CompTIA CySA+ or similar-level certification and knowledge of reporting suites such as Power BI. Familiarity with Data Loss Prevention, Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems, Firewalls, SIEM, Microsoft security suites, and cloud concepts would be an advantage.
