About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant to join our team at Sovos Compliance. As a key member of our Consulting services team, you will play a critical role in providing complex tax advice and research to our clients, helping them navigate the rapidly changing global tax landscape.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying opportunities with existing and new clients for new work to the business
  • Developing and maintaining your own portfolio of clients
  • Generating technical ideas and opportunities to take to market
  • Leading and delivering consulting projects, often in collaboration with others
  • Signing off business leads up to your level of expertise
  • Supporting Consultants with the Consulting Services function
  • Collaborating on all sales and compliance matters, including providing taxation technical support to the sales and Compliance teams
  • Ensuring all risk management processes are followed
  • Maintaining high standards of client service at all times
  • Liaising with the account management team to ensure a consistently high level of service is delivered to clients
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant tax principles and legislation to ensure data accuracy and assist Sales and Marketing with technical advice
  • Representing the company at external events and attending, managing, and running client meetings
  • Mentoring new Consulting Services staff members

What We Need From You

  • A Bachelor's degree, CTA qualification, or equivalent work-related experience
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in taxation, preferably with a focus on VAT, IPT, and other indirect taxes
  • Excellent time management, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and cross-functionally
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
