Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Surveyor to join our team at Liquid. As a Commercial Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the management and delivery of repairs, maintenance, and stock investment contracts across all Mechanical, Electrical, and Engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure contracts are financially controlled, to budget, and to client requirements.
- Scrutiny and processing of variation claims using a variety of contracted schedules of rates and open book arrangements.
- Monitor and update monthly cost/sales/cash flow forecast, including labour analysis, and assist in the delivery of the monthly management accounts.
- Scrutiny of applications for payment/valuations.
- Performing risk, value management, and cost control, working with the management team to ensure that the Compliance and M&E Team consistently identifies opportunities for and delivers value for money.
- Assessing applications for payment compliant with the contract.
- Assisting in claims and dispute resolution.
- Preparation and settlement of contractor final accounts.
- Preparing accurate and prudent cost/value analysis.
- Budget preparation for both reactive and programmed works across revenue and capital budget streams.
- Identifying service areas and elements where cost savings can be achieved, working with Contract Managers to implement strategic improvement and monitor the savings generated.
- Feeding into the delivery of a portfolio of Mechanical, Electrical, and refurbishment projects through a team of Contract Managers and Engineers.
- Procuring individual projects and programmes of works relating to all types of M&E works.
Person Specification:
- BSc, HND, or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a similar related field.
- High-level knowledge and experience of quantity surveying, cost control, partnering, and a range of procurement mechanisms and procedures.
- Experience of building practice, building law, and emerging trends, and the ability to manage best practice and techniques.
- Ability to effectively manage resources to achieve business objectives, whilst contributing to complex budget setting and control.
- High-level analytical skill and an ability to deliver creative solutions and information in a diverse environment.
- Experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Able to represent the organisation externally with key stakeholders such as local authorities, partner agencies, and residents' groups.
Experience Required:
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor and financial knowledge of construction costs.
- Understanding of contracts and the tender process and managing packages of work.
- Experience of managing schedules of rates and open book arrangements for M&E contracts.
- Experience in a relevant maintenance and reactive/responsive repairs capacity with a sound technical knowledge of building maintenance services.
- Experience of using quality systems.
- Experience of managing and administering a large and complex range of contracts and contract forms, delivering high volumes of multi-disciplinary repairs to housing, offices, and other building types.
- Experience of planned maintenance and/or major repairs.
Additional Information:
This position will be based in Wembley, however, you will be required to travel to other sites as required. A valid UK driving license is required with access to own vehicle insured for business use. A standard DBS Check is required for this position.
