Job Title: Qualified Finance Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Finance Manager to join our client's finance team. As a key member of the management team, you will provide financial leadership and guidance to the organisation, playing a crucial role in shaping the company's financial future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance function, providing expertise and guidance for strategic decision-making.
  • Implement modern accounting practices, incorporating new technologies and automation as necessary.
  • Liaise with third-party accountants to ensure statutory and HMRC reporting compliance.
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting, ensuring optimal financial management.
  • Oversee and develop the accounts team, providing coaching and mentoring to support their professional growth.
  • Review and present monthly profit and loss reports at management review meetings.
  • Manage the sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, and credit checking.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations, petty cash, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Manage payroll and ensure timely returns to HMRC.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and corporation tax returns.
  • General office management responsibilities, including managing the company car fleet, stationery, and leasing requirements.
  • Manage the company's insurances, ensuring cost-effective coverage.
  • Oversee purchasing activities for manufacturing raw materials and goods for resale.
  • Maintain accounting records for property management company and liaise with managing agents as necessary.
  • Manage the order processing function from receipt to dispatch.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in senior accounts management in a similar business.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational, proactive, and deadline-focused skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others positively.
  • Proficient in creating profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flows.
  • Solid numeracy, literacy, and general IT skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Sage accounting software or similar.
  • Track record of making sound commercial decisions.
  • An accounting/finance qualification (ACCA or CIMA) is essential.
