The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Research Scientist to join our team at Sun Chemical. As a key member of our Electronic Materials Development team, you will be responsible for developing new products that meet the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new products for the Electronic Materials market that align with the company's strategy.
  • Develop and maintain application testing protocols, and maintain and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment.
  • Perform daily tasks in the laboratory as required.
  • Contribute to product development, including formulation and research of new and existing products.
  • Interact with internal and external customers to advance product development and implementation in PCB and other Electronic Materials segments.
  • Apply scientific knowledge to solve problems and provide updates on project progress.
  • Provide technical and customer service support as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Practical working knowledge in a relevant formulating laboratory environment, with job-specific training provided.
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (A*-C / 4+) with an emphasis on science subjects, and A Levels in Chemistry/Biology/Physics or a related discipline. A degree in a science-related subject is preferable but not essential.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
  • Ability to devise test methods, analyze results, and disseminate them in a professional and effective way.
  • Strong team player with a can-do attitude.
