Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Longevity Reinsurance Expert to join our team at SCOR, a leading reinsurer in the global market. As part of our Life and Health business line, you will be responsible for driving growth and development in the longevity reinsurance segment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be expected to take a lead role in marketing, sourcing, and execution of new longevity business, including contract negotiation. This will involve developing and maintaining external and internal relationships to enhance SCOR's ability to source opportunities globally.

This is a key role within Longevity, and the candidate will be expected to drive deals and projects to completion, as well as influence the overall strategy of the team. Business development is a highly leveraged part of the longevity team, and the candidate will contribute to initiatives within Pricing, Research, and in-force deal management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain close relationships with potential clients and working partners to gain a good understanding of the global market landscape and maximize opportunities for writing profitable new business.
  • Provide input to innovation and the development of Life and Health's product offering and positioning for longevity, including supporting the Head of Longevity Pricing on technical pricing aspects.
  • Develop a clear understanding of client needs and motivations for longevity de-risking.
  • Seek opportunities to improve the profile of the Longevity team both internally and externally (e.g., marketing strategy; presentations; articles).
  • Maintain records of key meetings and email exchanges with clients.

Tender Responses & Deal Execution

  • Identify and prioritize new business opportunities in line with SCOR's longevity strategy.
  • Tailor solutions that are attractive to SCOR and the client.
  • Work with the Head of Longevity Pricing to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of responses to tender requests.
  • Ensure that key issues/risks are highlighted early and referred to key stakeholders/functions and management as appropriate.
  • Lead, with the support of Legal, contract negotiation and all other internal and external aspects of execution.

Essential Requirements

  • Clear history of strong client and internal stakeholder management.
  • Ability to focus on detailed treaty points and maintain 'big picture' outlook.
  • Significant experience in the life and/or pensions industry.
  • Proven success of business development in life and/or pensions industry in either consultancy, insurance, or reinsurance environment.
  • Excellent understanding of pensions and annuity landscape and motivations for de-risking.
  • Good number of relationships with key reinsurance buyers in life and pensions industry.

Salary

£80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
