Job Summary

The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting by the business. This role requires a strong understanding of data engineering principles, cloud-based technologies, and big data processing.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement batch and streaming data pipelines to support business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, observable, and secure software using cloud-based technologies.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve the codebase and participate in agile ceremonies.
  • Operationalize data processing systems and ensure system observability.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering with a focus on big data processing.
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
  • Strong programming skills with an OOP language (e.g., Java, C++).
  • Proficient with SQL and experience working with large-scale video assets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
Desired Characteristics
  • Strong Test-Driven Development background and understanding of levels of testing required to continuously deliver value to production.
  • Experience with large-scale video assets and a strong understanding of data processing systems.
