Director of Green Spaces

The Director of Green Spaces will lead a diverse team responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the council's play areas, outdoor sports facilities, parks, open spaces, allotments, and cemeteries.

The role will provide supportive but decisive oversight of both the day-to-day operational work of the service and include the preparation and implementation of medium to long-term strategies for the management and improvement of these assets, including the management of the council's countryside service and In Bloom programme.

The Director of Green Spaces will also perform the role of client manager for the Coastal Partnership, ensuring effective collaboration and coordination between stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of professionals responsible for the maintenance and improvement of public spaces
• Develop and implement strategies for the management and improvement of council assets
• Provide oversight of the council's countryside service and In Bloom programme
• Act as client manager for the Coastal Partnership

Requirements:

• Proven experience in leading teams and managing public spaces
• Strong strategic thinking and planning skills
• Ability to work effectively with stakeholders and partners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
