About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Optometrist to join our team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. As a Clinical Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality eye care services to patients with complex eye conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage patients with a wide range of eye conditions, including paediatric and adult patients.
- Provide specialist eye care services, including contact lens and low vision aid assessments.
- Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to improve patient outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of our eye care services, including service redesign and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- Registration with the General Optical Council (GOC).
- A BSc in Optometry or equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years of experience in clinical optometry.
- Experience in contact lens and low vision aid assessments is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
