Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the FCAS Digital Engineering Team to design, implement, and refine engineering processes, technologies, and cultures that support the FCAS programme across international partners.
  2. Explore, develop, test, and deploy engineering tools, methods, and processes to enhance engineering performance in areas such as data creation, analysis, management, governance, and interoperability.
  3. Investigate new toolset capabilities and their potential applications in the Design of Air's products and services, defining how they can be integrated with other engineering discipline tools and data sets to establish a 'digital thread'.
  4. Ensure alignment with the FCAS Digital Engineering Roadmap to achieve an integrated, end-to-end FCAS product development system.
  5. Co-design and deliver product development solutions (processes, methods, tools, technology, people, data) with software vendor partners, internal engineering functions, project stakeholders, and other product owners.
  6. Execute proof-of-concept and proof-of-value demonstrations to validate the new product development approach meets time and cost goals for the FCAS Programme.
  7. Contribute to business change, including stakeholder communication, coalition building, and creating urgency.
  8. Multidisciplinary collaboration with all Engineering Disciplines and adjacent Functions.
  9. Liaise with international and UK partners to discuss, agree, and deploy solutions that work across the FCAS enterprise.
  10. Liaise with lines of business deployed engineers, IT Infrastructure support, and business capability projects to optimize Engineering capability.
Required Skills:
  1. Experience with different stages of the Product Lifecycle - Concept Design through to Integration and Test.
  2. Development of processes, methods, and toolsets used in the product development process.
  3. Ability to analyze information and apply engineering judgment to solve problems.
  4. Effective communication, both verbally and in writing, to managers, peers, and external parties.
  5. Experience in multiple areas of a discipline's sub-disciplines.
  6. Experience with Complex Systems, System of Systems, Air Vehicle System programmes or projects.
  7. Experience in articulating statements of work and planning and delivery of activities to meet schedules.
  8. Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment influencing adjacent Engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
  9. Comfortable working with ambiguity, challenging established thinking, innovating, creating new ways of working, and leading change.
  10. Professional Qualification: Relevant Engineering/STEM degree (BEng or Higher).
  11. Professional Registration: CEng.
  12. At least 5 years experience in an Engineering Discipline role.
