Job Title: Behaviour Mentor - SEMH School Support

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join our support staff at a SEMH school in Chasetown. The successful candidate will have a passion for working within education and a positive, creative, and proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide opportunities to progress academically, socially, and emotionally
  • Leading by example as a role model
  • Leading sports and activity sessions
  • Have an understanding of individuals personalities and needs
  • Offer guidance and mentoring
  • Have an understanding/interest in sports
  • Provide a safe environment to learn
  • Deal with any challenging or disruptive behaviour
  • Offer advice and support
  • Develop self-confidence, positive self-image and independence
  • Fully compliant in safeguarding policies and procedures

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with special educational needs (Career or personal)
  • A passion for working within education
  • A positive, creative, and proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, staff, and families.
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

Eligibility:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
