Recreational Therapist

Family Link Charity provides unique and engaging activities for young people with disabilities in the London Borough of Bromley. We seek a committed Recreational Therapist to join our team, working closely with our Play Leader to deliver an exciting and safe environment for our participants.

The role of a Recreational Therapist involves providing stimulating activities that cater to the individual needs of each young person. This includes creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere, encouraging independence and self-confidence, and maintaining positive relationships with parents and carers.

We are looking for someone with at least 1 year of experience working with young people with disabilities or a proven interest in this sector. Relevant qualifications, such as NVQ2 or above, and current First Aid and safeguarding certificates are desirable.

The salary for this position is £12 per hour, reflecting the level of expertise and dedication required for this role. As a self-employed contractor, you will be responsible for your own tax and national insurance obligations.

We provide Saturday and holiday clubs, with sessions running two Saturdays per month and 2-3 times per week during school holidays. Our staff have received comprehensive training to support the care and health needs of our participants.

In addition to our regular activities, we organize day trips to places of interest, such as bowling, theatre, cinema, and parks, which help develop social skills, confidence, and lifelong relationships. Family Link Charity recognizes the importance of avoiding the transition period from child to adult services and offers a supportive environment for young people to continue meeting their peers until they choose to move on.
