Job Title: Sous Chef - Events and Hospitality

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at The Barbican Centre. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in managing the day-to-day service, leading and mentoring the junior team, and delivering high-end events and exceptional quality food.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide food and service to a consistently high standard.
  • Manage the kitchen brigade in the absence of the executive chef.
  • Assist in training junior staff.
  • Liaise with key team members to plan for the provision of food in all areas.
  • Place orders directly with suppliers.
  • Ensure smooth running of daily operations.
  • Manage stock levels of the specific area.
  • Ensure the presentation of the food is consistent with the standards set by senior chefs.
