Care Assistant Job Description

About the Role

As a Care Assistant at Limewood Care Home, your key responsibilities will include:
• Empowering independence by assisting residents with their daily routines and encouraging them to make positive choices and remain as independent as possible.
• Providing personalized care and support to each resident, following and supporting their individual care plans.
• Maintaining a close eye on residents' health, communicating any concerns to the Nurse or Clinical Deputy Manager, and helping with calls to relatives or healthcare professionals.
• Upholding the dignity and respect of each resident, ensuring they feel valued and cared for in every interaction.
• Encouraging social interactions among residents and with staff, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
• Working with housekeepers to maintain clean, safe, and comfortable living spaces, and responding quickly to emergencies or call bells.
• Assisting residents who need extra help with eating and drinking, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
• Bringing joy to our residents' lives and making them smile every day.

Requirements

To be successful as a Care Assistant at Limewood Care Home, you will require:
• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of experience as a Care Assistant, or transferable skills.
• A genuine passion for caring for the elderly and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
• Integrity, respect, and a strong sense of teamwork.
