Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a diverse, high-performing product design team to achieve high-quality outcomes, enabling and facilitating a team to consistently deliver work on time and exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage the end-to-end design process, from inception to launch and beyond, ensuring a seamless and user-centric experience.
  • Take ownership of product design, service design, content design, and brand design, maintaining a cohesive and innovative design language.
  • Identify and solve highly complex problems within the design area.
  • Navigate and manage complex stakeholder relationships, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Influence the product strategy with a view on the holistic customer experience, ensuring that the team is well-informed on appropriate business challenges.
  • Demonstrate a hands-on approach when necessary, while also providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Manage and coach the Product Design team, supporting their day-to-day, helping them grow their skills and shape their career.
  • Work seamlessly across Product Management, Product Marketing, Technology, Marketing & other departments to foster effective communication and collaboration.
  • Lead the team to align and evolve with brand guidelines to ensure adherence across all channels.
  • Anticipate future needs, and hire and grow the team to achieve those needs, fulfilling strategic priorities and delighting our customers.
  • Actively help to shape and evolve Chambers' design system & overall design operations.
  • Uphold a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the design process and team dynamics.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior design leadership role.
  • Expertise in product design with a strong hypotheses-driven approach.
  • Experience in leading teams to implement design within existing brand guidelines and suggesting evolution to guidelines to meet product needs.
  • An exceptional facilitator who can bring people together, adapting methods to suit different styles.
  • Strong experience in service design, content design, and brand development.
  • Strong ability to lead and mentor a diverse design team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for managing stakeholders at various levels, across multiple departments, including the Executive team.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to balance hands-on involvement and delegation.
  • A track record of running customer development and user research programs to uncover opportunities, understand customer needs, and validate design solutions.
  • Demonstrable experience of measuring user experience and leading highly visible design projects that had a meaningful impact on the business.
