Job Description

This is a senior-level position that requires a high level of expertise in electrical engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high voltage cabling systems specifications, concept designs, and design reviews.

Responsibilities
  • Developing HV/EHV cabling systems specifications, concept/detailed design and design review, estimation, site supervision and support as required.
  • Provide technical support to the team on all aspects of HV cable system engineering and design.
  • Prepare plant and equipment technical specification, power cable route specifications, tender specifications, technical and progress reports.
  • Ensuring correct and accurate interface with other engineering functions involved in the projects, attend, and conduct internal and external meetings with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Perform technical calculations including cable size, rating calculations, TMF and EMF calculations, Sheath induced voltage calculations and others.
Requirements
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Detail design experience of HV cabling projects.
  • Co-ordination of HV Cable Works design and interfaces throughout project lifecycle including development of drawings & calculations.
  • An understanding of the commercial and technical issues in undertaking a large-scale construction project.
  • Ability and confidence to discuss engineering issues with people across various levels and disciplines.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including:
