About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic role as part of the high disease containment post-mortem team within the Pathology and Animal Sciences Department.

As a key member of this team, you will provide critical support for the ante and post-mortem examination of large animals and poultry through sampling, humane euthanasia, and tissue location/sampling. Your tasks will also involve the safe transfer and submission of samples from the post-mortem room to laboratory facilities, adhering to Good Laboratory Practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support ante and post-mortem examinations of large animals and poultry
  • Sample and humanely euthanize livestock using appropriate methods
  • Assist with tissue location/sampling as required by experimental protocols
  • Safely transfer and submit samples from the post-mortem room to laboratory facilities

About You

We are looking for a motivated individual with experience working in a scientific environment and dissection/anatomy skills. As a strong communicator and team player, you will be able to use common software applications and possess a BTEC HNC/BSc degree or equivalent technical qualifications in biological/biomedical/bioveterinary science.
