Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Female Support Assistant to join our team at Disability North. The successful candidate will provide support to a 7-year-old autistic young lady, enabling her to engage in social activities and allowing her mother to have respite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to the young lady, promoting her independence and autonomy.
  • Assist with daily activities, such as personal care and meal preparation.
  • Accompany the young lady on outings, including visits to the park and other community venues.
  • Support the young lady's communication needs, using alternative methods as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the young lady's mother and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive support package.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children with autism and complex needs.
  • Ability to provide physical support and assistance with daily living tasks.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid DBS check and permission to work in the UK.

Working Arrangements:

This is a part-time position, approximately 3 hours per week. A driver is preferred but not essential.
