Joining this team as a Trainee Underwriter, you'll be instrumental in delivering exceptional service aligned with our sales strategy. Your responsibilities will include crafting renewal terms, securing customer retention on optimal terms, and introducing new products to existing customers.

This role offers extensive professional growth opportunities, exposing you to our products, underwriting platform, and strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite new/existing commercial business (PSC) products in accordance with our high standards
  • Collaborate across broker distribution channels and commercial insurance products
  • Achieve monthly targets, encompassing profitability, GWP, conversion, retention, cross-sell, referral rate reduction, quotes per day, turnaround times, workflow management, phone service, and prospecting
  • Enhance sales skills and understanding of sales and underwriting strategy in collaboration with wider teams and regions
  • Effectively negotiate with internal and external parties, identifying key points of contact within brokers
  • Challenge non-standard underwriting decisions, leveraging the expertise of product specialists and senior team members
  • Demonstrate courage and innovation by recognizing process improvements and contributing to enhanced customer experience and driving profitable growth

Estimated Salary Range: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on location and experience
