At East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking a highly skilled Lead Safeguarding Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on safeguarding practice across Colchester Hospital and community services.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the safeguarding team, ensuring that they maintain oversight of safeguarding practice across all patient groups. This will involve building and maintaining professional relationships with leaders in ESNEFT and within partner organisations to ensure consistency and coordination in safeguarding responses.

As a Lead Safeguarding Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and addressing safeguarding concerns
  • Developing and implementing effective safeguarding protocols
  • Providing guidance and support to staff on safeguarding best practices
  • Monitoring and reporting on safeguarding performance
  • Liaising with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure ESNEFT's contribution to system-wide developments and learning

This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding principles and legislation, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. If you have a passion for patient care and a commitment to safeguarding, we encourage you to apply.

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to this, you will have access to a range of benefits, including contributory pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and career development opportunities.
