Job Overview

Homes for Students is a leading provider of student accommodation in the UK, seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team at The Printworks property in Exeter. This full-time role offers 40 hours of work per week and provides an opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of our properties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks within the Property, ensuring statutory compliance is maintained at all times. They will also be accountable for maintaining the condition of the property and addressing any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure statutory compliance is maintained at all times.
  • Maintain the condition of the property and address any issues that arise.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of property maintenance within a similar environment or relevant trade qualifications.
  • Knowledge of safe working methods, including COSHH, Manual Handling, and working at height.
  • Awareness of health and safety issues and legal requirements.
  • Excellent customer care skills with the ability to report outstanding actions and keep individuals informed of progress.
  • Experience of prioritizing workload to meet competing deadlines without close supervision.
