Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Tutor to join our team. As a Tutor with The Education Network, you will work with looked after children (LAC) providing one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions. Your role will be to assess students' learning needs, create tailored learning plans, and work closely with social workers, carers, and educational professionals to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver personalized tutoring sessions in core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
  • Develop and implement tailored learning plans to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Collaborate with social workers, carers, and educational professionals to ensure consistent support and monitoring of student progress.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters trust and respect between students and tutors.
  • Prepare students for exams and support them in developing effective study habits and strategies.
  • Provide regular feedback and progress reports to parents, carers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS), PTTLS, or relevant tutoring experience with at least an MA or PHD in a similar role.
  • Experience working with LAC or vulnerable young people is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to helping young people succeed.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
